Every year on January 26, India celebrates Republic Day with full fervour and great enthusiasm. It is the day when the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950, and turning the country into an independent republic. It marks the transition of India from a British empire to an Independent republic.
On this day, the people of India not only celebrate and honour the achievements of the nation, but they also pay tribute to the people who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country.
