Students
At present , the Institute have a total of 153 students on it’s rolls. Admissions are open to both boys and girls without any discrimination of caste, creed, region, religion etc. provided the child is visually impaired and is certified by the Eye Department Govt. Hospital Sector-16, Chandigarh that the child is mentally sound and is having no communicable disease.

Admissions are made in Class I in the age group of 7 to 10 years based on recommendations of an internal selection board after obtaining a certificate of blindness duly signed by a medical board of Govt. Hospital Sector: 16, Chandigarh without any discrimination of caste, creed, region, religion etc. provided the child is visually impaired and having no communicable disease.Admissions to higher classes is made rarely depending on vacancy in the class and compassion of the candidate
Hostel Facility
Hostel facility is available for 70 boys and 60 girls. They have separate hostels with suitable facilities of toilets, solar water heating arrangements, TV and indoor games etc.
Scholarship
We give a scholarship to all our ex-students undergoing undergraduate courses in various colleges at the rate of Rs. 1000/- annually. Besides, we also give a grant of Rs. 500/- annually as assistance to students to buy educational material. For our post-graduate students the rates of the scholarships are Rs. 1500/- and Rs. 750/-
For example Cipla Foundation have given very substantial scholarships to our ex-students studying in colleges for last two years. UT Administration gives scholarships to eligible students ranging from Rs. 250/- to Rs. 500/- depending on the class in which student is studying. We have opened-saving bank of students in which these scholarships are credited. The pass books of these accounts are handed over to parents of students,when they leave the school.There is substantial amount in the range of Rs. 15000/- to Rs. 20000/- when they leave the school.
Ten of our students passing out from Class XII during academic year 2014-15 were given a scholarship of Rs. 50,000/- each.During the academic year 2016-17 all 41 of our ex-students who are undergoing undergraduate and post-graduate courses are being paid scholarships by Cipla Foundation@ Rs 1,100/- and Rs. 1,300/-
Academic Results
The Institute was earlier affiliated to Punjab School Education Board Mohali but since academic year 2014-15 it has been affiliated to Central Board of School Eduction (CBSE) New Delhi. The Institute has an excellent record of academic achievements. It is heartening to state that during the last two decades the Institute has shown excellent results by cent percent students getting first division. Some of the students have been placed in merit lists.
