Donations

The Society for the Care of the Blind has not authorized any individual/organization to collect donations on its behalf. Donors, particularly outside India, are requested not to entertain anyone claiming to be our representative for seeking donations. Donations are received in cash or kind. Proper official receipts are issued by the Society for all donations. Donations are covered for Income Tax exemptions in India under Section 80-G of Income Tax Act. Any donor in India can send his donation by Chque/Draft in the name of ‘Society for the Care of the Blind’ payable at Chandigarh and can deposit it in our Saving Bank A/c. No: 10506615304 with State Bank of India Sector: 7, Chandigarh under intimation to the Society for issuing of receipt. Donors outside India can also donate in foreign/Indian currency through our Account with State Bank of India ibid.

(a) Donors outside India can donate in Indian Rupee through Cheque/Bank Drafts drawn in favour of ‘Society for the Care of the Blind’ and deposit in our Saving Bank A/c No. 10506615304 with State Bank of India Sector 7 Chandigarh or in any of the branches of State Bank of India.

(b) We have now been registered to receive donations in foreign currency under Sec 6(1)(a) of FCRA 1976 vide Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs\' Letter No: II/2102289/89(011)/2010-FCRA II Dated 07/04/2011. Donations in foreign currency can be transferred electronically to our Swift Account with Oriental Bank of Commerce Sector 26 Chandigarh A/c No. 016182151003315 by furnishing the following details. They are also requested to give details of their status of nationality particularly whether they are NRIs or residents of foreign countries.
